The first newsletter
Hello, all!
Welcome to the Johnny Ryan/Angry Youth Comix e-list. The function of this list is to update you on the oh-so-many happenings in that teensy corner of the Comix World Johnny calls his own. You're on this list because you've provided support to Johnny, whether through fan letters, unwitting inspiration, helpful hints, or outright cash bribes. If you do *not* want to be on this list, just reply to this message with "Unsubscribe" in the Subject Line. I should mention, however, that it will make Johnny cry all soft and gay like a little bitch baby. (And also, be advised that we will do our best not to overload your mailboxes with "SPAM". After all, we don't want to be a nuisance or nothin'.)
Now then! Today we write you to alert you to a new interview w/Johnny that appears on http://www.thecomicstore.com. It's worth checking out in part to see the webmaster's crude animation attempts featuring LoadyMcGee! It's also a pretty good interview, even if the guy who conducted it admitted to us that he "never really thought Benny Hill was funny." This blasphemy notwithstanding, we thank Paul Harrington for taking the time to ask some probing questions and covering some ground heretofore uncovered (at least until Johnny's appearance on "The View" -- air date TBA.) PSSST...Don't miss the review The Comicstore did of AYC #1, either.
In other news, Johnny will be signing comics at APE next week. Not much to say about that, except that we beg of you, please show up (and bring your friends) so he won't be all embarrassed at how, say, Dan Clowes has a line of 900 guys waiting for a sketch of Dan Pussey and the only one paying attention to Johnny is his girlfriend. *SOB!*
In other news, http://www.johnnyr.com is getting closer to being done each day. (While you're waiting, click on "BIO" to see a hot pic of the angrrrry youth himself in all his glory.) Big props to webmaster Jeff Voris for all his efforts in this regard. Jeff is also the man behind the brilliant site http://www.comicartcollective.com, which allows you to purchase original art by a slew of hotshot artists like Tony Millionaire, Kurt Wolfgang, Kevin Scalzo, Rick Altergott and more.
