The seventh newsletter (October 6, 2001)

Fellow Americans (and you Spaniards, Canadians and Belgians too),

It's been a while since we plopped one of our steamy newsletters in your inbox, but it's time to get back to the drawing board. It's been a harrowing month to say the least, but it is our sincere belief that he who laffs, lasts. With that in mind, here's the newest Angry Youth News!

* The AYC website (http://www.johnnyr.com) is playing host to some new "Fan Art" submissions, viewable here (http://www.johnnyr.com/comix/fanArt.html): Box Office Poison maestro Alex Robinson gives us a striking portrait of upstanding citizen Loady McGee, while AYC fan Aaron Mew cooks up an actual comic strip, entitled "Girl Trouble". Check back within the week and you'll also see a great gag by Onsmith Jeremi of Chicago collective "Comixwerks".

* AYC completists (I know you're out there...somewhere!) will wanna pick up the current issue of Nickelodeon magazine (with wee warlock Harry Potter on the cover). Johnny has a ghoulish Frankenstein gag in the Comic Book section, which also features AYC pal Steven Weissman. Johnny has cranked out a veritable buttload of gags for Nickelodeon lately, so keep an eye out for them in coming months.

* The sidesplittin' X-Entertainment interview with Johnny has made a second home for itself at one of our favorite new websites, RetroCrush (http://www.retrocrush.com/). If you like monsters, boobies, and terrible movies you'll love RetroCrush! Major "props" to our pal Robert Berry for a job well done.

* Speaking of interviews, the Belgian investigative journalism/underground culture mag Mao Magazine (http://www.maomagazine.com) will soon be talking to Johnny (about comix, not politics-- don't worry!) You'll be the first to know when it's posted.

* Johnny is hard at work on AYC #3, which will be out in February 2002. Sounds like a long wait, but 2 issues a year ain't too shabby for a guy who works in a urology clinic all day long. (How we wish we were joking.) Just to whet your appetites, here's a sneak peek of the cover! http://www.geocities.com/saltyjenny/JohnnyRyan/ayc3.html

* If you haven't already, don't forget to bookmark http://www.johnnyr.com/comix/index.html. Every Monday, our kindly webmaster posts new gags and doodles Johnny has drawn at the aformentioned shitty job. The gags are all archived, too, just in case you miss a week. How's that for handy?

That's it for now. As a reminder to our new subscribers (WELCOME!), you can email Johnny at superjohnny69@yahoo.com-- this is NOT his personal email. If you want off the AYC list, let us know. No hard feelings, honest!

Cheers & Jeers, Loady McGee
